When you access our website, engage Castle Importing for services or the purchase goods, or otherwise provide your personal information to us, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Our website, goods, services, and the any other aspect of the business made available to the public, is intended to be accessed, used, and purchased by individuals over the age of 16 in the United States.

Non-Identifying Information

This non-identifying information cannot be used to identify you unless used with other personal information. We only collect and use personal information that you provide us with when accessing our websites, using our goods or services, and applying for or maintaining employment or a contractor relationship with us. We do not work with any third parties to engage in cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. Additionally, we do not sell your personal information to third parties. If we collect and use your personal information, it is for a limited purpose, which will be outlined in this Privacy Policy and disclosed at the time of collection.

Collecting Personal Information 

We may request and/or collect various categories of personal information from you. For example, this personal information may include your name, signature, social security number, address, telephone number, passport number, driver’s license or state identification card number, education information, employment history, bank account number, credit card number, debit card number, or financial information. The personal information we request or collect from you will depend on the ways in which you engage with Castle Importing and its goods and services. 

We collect information by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. At the point of collection or request for collection of personal information, we will let you know what information is being collected or requested and how it will be used. In most instances, with the exception of certain non-identifying information, the personal information we collect from you will be voluntarily provided to us by you as a website user, customer, job applicant, employee, or contractor. As a customer, you may provide us with your personal information when you submit a contact form through our website or when you purchase goods sold by us. As a job applicant, employee, or contractor, you may voluntarily provide personal information as a part of the application or onboarding process, or to maintain your personnel and payroll records. We only retain personal information as long as necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law, whichever is longer.

You are free to refuse our request for any personal information or request that we delete any or all your personal information in our systems. Upon request, we will delete any of your personal information from our system within a reasonable timeframe, subject to certain verification procedures as outlined below and rightful retention of certain information by law or court order. Please note, if you decline to provide certain personal information, you may be limited in accessing or utilizing certain goods or services provided by Castle Importing.  

Using Personal Information

Castle Importing does not sell your personal information or share your personal information for targeted advertising. We may disclose your personal information to third party contractors to help us achieve a business purpose as outlined in the chart below. However, we will not disclose your personal information to a third party contractor that may sell or share your personal information. 

Castle Importing may anonymize your personal information and use it in an aggregate to assess company performance, technology and website improvements, and general consumer trends. To the extent necessary, Castle Importing may provide access to or disclose your personal information to third parties to provide you agreed upon goods or services or to coordinate staffing and employment matters. Otherwise, we will not disclose your personal information unless the disclosure is made (i) at your direction; (ii) due to your decision to opt out or limit the use of your sensitive personal information and we need to communicate that to a third party; or (iii) pursuant to a business transfer to a third party, such as a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or other transaction in which the third party assumes control of all or part of the business.

Castle Importing may collect your personal information for various uses, such as the following: 

  1. Employment: We may use your personal information to assess employment opportunities and to verify eligibility for employment. If you are an existing employee, we may use your personal information to manage and assess human resources, to process payroll and benefits, and to coordinate with a benefits broker or staffing agency. We may also use your personal information to properly maintain and update personnel records. 
  2. Customer Service: We may use your personal information to sell you goods or provide services. For example, we may need to verify your identity to complete certain transactions or to process payments. 
  3. Operational: We may use your personal information to manage and track product sales, services, market trends, and day-to-day operations, including but not limited to the transport of goods. 
  4. Security: We may use your personal information to help verify your identity and strengthen our efforts in preventing, investigating, or providing notice of fraud, unlawful activity, or unauthorized access to or use of information, websites, or data systems. 
  5. Technology: We may use your personal information to help maintain and improve internal technology and related practices and procedures. 

Securing Personal Information 

The personal information we collect is stored and processed in the United States, or where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities. Castle Importing uses various methods to protect your personal information from unauthorized disclosures or misuse. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute data security. You acknowledge and agree that when supplying information online or using other technology systems, there is a risk of security breaches, maintenance issues, and other potential problems that may impact our ability to protect your personal information. 

California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended (“CCPA”). This section of the Privacy Policy only applies to California residents. Any defined terms used below have the meaning provided in the CCPA, unless indicated otherwise.

Under the CCPA, you have the following rights: 

  1. The right to know what personal information we collected about you, including the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which the personal information is collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing personal information, the categories of third parties to whom the business discloses personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we collected you.
  2. The right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  3. The right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  4. We do not currently sell or share your personal information, but if we revise this Privacy Policy to begin doing so, you have the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by us.
  5. We do not use or disclose your sensitive personal information, however, if we revise this Privacy Policy to begin doing so, you may have the right to limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information by us.
  6. The right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of these privacy rights, including an employee’s, applicant’s, or independent contractor’s right not to be retaliated against for the exercise of their CCPA rights.

Once you have sent us a CCPA-related request, you will receive notice of acknowledgment within 10 days, and then you can expect the following: 

  1. We will review each request and then contact the person making the request for verification purposes. The verification process will vary depending on who is making the request (e.g., the consumer versus an agent of the consumer), the nature of the request (e.g., categories of personal information versus specific pieces of personal information), and the consumer’s interactions with Castle Importing. 
  2. The person making the request may be asked to provide personal information to Castle Importing so we can verify the consumer’s identity and make efforts to fulfill the request. If a consumer uses an agent to make a request, Castle Importing may require the consumer to provide the agent with written permission to make the request and verify their own identity directly with Castle Importing. The verification process may be carried out over email or by telephone. Castle Importing reserves the right to deny certain requests, in whole or in part, to the extent permitted under applicable law, if we cannot verify a consumer’s identity with the required degree or certainty or in good faith suspects fraudulent or malicious activity concerning the request.
  3. We will respond to requests within 30 days, subject to extensions of up to an additional 15 days, in which the consumer or its agent will receive notice and an explanation for the reasons the extension is required.

For purposes of this section, the terms, “sell” and “share”, have the meaning provided for under California Civil Code Section 1798.140. As stated above, Castle Importing does not sell or share any personal information according to these definitions. We also do not sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years old. If a child under the age of 16 has or may have provided personal information to Castle Importing, a parent or guardian may inform us of that fact by contacting us using one of the methods listed in the “How to Contact Us” section below, and we will review our records and delete any such information. Any personal information that we receive from a person whom we believe is under the age of 16 will be deleted.
